Meet David from the Czech Republic

My six-month Management Traineeship in Beijing was one of the best experiences of my life. I worked at the Intercontinental Sanlitun in the Front Office department, where I got the chance to rotate across different areas. One of the highlights for me was spending three months in the VIP Club Lounge, where I even held the title of Assistant Manager. Later, I shadowed the Guest Relations Manager and was eventually promoted to Guest Service Manager for the last part of my traineeship.

It was amazing to be trusted with real responsibilities and even manage a small team. I really felt like part of the hotel, not just a trainee. The team at Intercontinental was supportive and professional, and I learned something new every day.

Outside of work, I had plenty of time to explore Beijing and travel around China — which is something I’ll never forget. The culture, food, and energy of the country are incredible, and the cost of living is much lower than in Europe, so you can actually enjoy life without spending too much.

I also had the chance to support LinkedTour by helping new applicants from my school, which made the experience even more rewarding.

If you’re looking for a traineeship where you can grow professionally, explore a new culture, and have a lot of fun — I highly recommend this program.
