Meet Martin from Estonia

My name is Martin Mozessov, I’m from Estonia and I completed my Food & Beverage Management internship at Regent Beijing Hotel.





How long have you been in China? How long are you going to stay, and do you have any travel plans during/after the program?


I spent 6 months in China for my management traineeship. After completing the program, I plan to work for a Michelin starred restaurant in Beijing, the offer was secured during my internship.


How is the experience so far? What have been the challenges and highlights of your stay here?


Working at Regent Beijing was both rewarding and eye-opening. The biggest challenge was adapting to specific cultural differences and a language barrier, but the highlights included amazing management team, good staff events from HR and overall feelings from my colleagues towards me.


Why did you choose to come to China in the first place?


I chose China because it’s a global leader in hospitality innovation. Understanding Chinese consumer preferences and cultural dynamics firsthand felt critical for my career. Plus, I’ve always been fascinated by Chinese working culture.


Would you recommend this experience to others interested in coming here?


Absolutely! Whether you’re passionate about hospitality or personal growth, China pushes you to adapt, learn, and see the world differently. The skills, perspectives and connections you gain here are unmatched.
